VNUF2 strengthens international cooperation with Southwest Forestry University, China

On the morning of December 19, 2025, the Dong Nai Campus of Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF2) was pleased to welcome and hold a working session with a delegation from Southwest Forestry University, China (SWFU). The visit and meeting marked an important step forward in expanding international cooperation, particularly in scientific research and education in the fields of forestry, environmental resources, and modern technologies.

The delegation from Southwest Forestry University, China, included Professor Ye Jiangxia, Director; Professor and Principal Researcher Yi Chuanhui; Associate Professor and Principal Researcher Li Maobiao; and Associate Professor and Principal Researcher Ying Xiaojie. These delegates are all highly regarded experts with extensive experience in research, supervision, and management of key projects across various specialized fields.

Representing the Dong Nai Campus of Vietnam National University of Forestry, the delegation was received by Dr. Nguyen Sy Ha, Deputy Director in charge of the Campus, together with leaders of relevant departments, faculties, and research staff.



During the working session, Dr. Nguyen Sy Ha presented an overview of VNUF2, highlighting its notable achievements in education, scientific research, and international cooperation, thereby opening up numerous opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions.

At the same time, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on several important professional topics, including the introduction of laboratory systems and research facilities, as well as the exploration and development of bilateral cooperation programs and projects in the coming period. In particular, the two universities devoted considerable attention to discussions on forest landscape studies based on GIS and remote sensing technologies, and to proposals for establishing a satellite data receiving station at Southwest Forestry University to serve research, teaching, and forest management activities.



In addition, the expert delegation from Southwest Forestry University conducted an in-depth academic exchange with lecturers of the Dong Nai Campus of Vietnam National University of Forestry on topics such as forest monitoring, forest pest and disease surveillance, and the application of remote sensing technology in forest resource management. The discussions were highly academic in nature and opened up many promising directions for future research and cooperation.



The working session took place in an open, cooperative, and effective atmosphere, contributing to the strengthening of the relationship between two prestigious forestry education and research institutions of Viet Nam and China. This event is considered an important foundation for the two universities to promote international cooperation activities further, enhance the quality of education and scientific research, and deepen international integration in the years to come.
